Under 16's start with a win

The U16 team manager sends the following brief report about their fine victory at leamington last night.

After a tight opening 15 minutes Staffs pressed the home side high up the pitch and began to create some clear cut chances. Connor Taylor broke the deadlock on 22 minutes forcing home a Tommy O'Hara corner. The floodgates then opened, Lucas Burnett scored on his County debut, Hayden Campbell finished off a flowing move after great work by Alex Hallchurch then Max Chimenes scored from the penalty spot after he had been upended in the area. Warwickshire grabbed a lifeline just before the break to make it 4-1 at half time to Staffordshire
Warwickshire came out for the second half determined to make a game of it and quickly scored with a fine finish after a defensive mix up. The home side were much more direct and with a blustery wind behind them made life awkward for Staffs at times but Lewis Salmon headed home to restore the three goal advantage before Warwickshire pulled a consolation goal back.
