     Title: Results Round Up

On Monday evening Staffordshire U14 Boys travelled to West Midlands Schools, who are the current league leaders, for an MCF league fixture. Staffordshire played very well in a hard fought first half and led at the break thanks to a goal from Charley Finney. In the second half the physicality of the West Midlands players came through and they scored three unanswered goals to remain top of the table.

On the same night the Under 16 Boys hosted Worcestershire Schools FA in an MCF fixture and in a very close game , which the scoreline does not refelect, Staffordshire ran out winners by 4-1. Team manager Neil Davies sends the following report:;

Staffs U16 Boys kept up their 100% record with a 4-1 win against a dogged and determined Worcestershire team.
Staffs started very brightly with Worcestershire struggling to cope with the home side's intensity. As a result, Staffs found themselves 2-0 up within the first 10 minutes through goals firstly by Hayden Campbell who finished off a great team move and then Max Chimenes who ran through and rounded the visiting keeper before slotting home following a quickly taken free kick by Christian Blanchette. Worcestershire to their credit kept plugging away and deservedly got back into the game mid way through the first half when their striker poked home after George Hill parried his initial shot.
Staffs had George to thank just before the break as he superbly saved a low skidding shot to keep the home team ahead 2-1 at half-time
The second half was a tense affair with chances at each end, however Staffs raised their game late on and finished the game strongly with two late goals. Christian Blanchette heading home after good work down the right by Kedanie Nugent and Charlie Drain. Then in stoppage time Liam Hickson cleverly released Lewis Salmon who was brought down in the area just as he was about to shoot. Connor Taylor stepped up to calmly convert the spot kick.
